This is a classic studio painting made at Todd Leninger’s Studio in Portland, Oregon. The base is a six session, 18 hour study of Haven on a stool. The second layer is a wing backed chair that Todd uses for an alternate prop. There’s a nice tension in this piece set up by the juxtaposition of the subject matter. Is the model or the chair the prop?
