"My work explores the connection between the artist and the model, the energy exchanged between the two. It's about emotional response, tactile, visceral, abstract, created with a limited color palette, leaving the brush strokes and drips raw and unrefined. Oil on canvas board. This piece was painted at Hipbone Studio over two different sessions. The base layer is a medium shot of Doug, a ruddy complected model, very muscular. The second layer, taped horizontally is Scott, a tale male with an average build. I like the tension. It’s in the possession of Michael Kounavis.
